K. LORREL MANNING

K. Lorrel Manning is an award-winning writer, director, actor, and musician with a distinguished career in both film and theatre. His work is characterized by its exploration of identity, resilience, and human connection, often pushing the boundaries of conventional storytelling.

Manning’s debut feature film, Happy New Year, premiered at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival and screened at over two dozen festivals worldwide, receiving multiple awards, including the Directorial Discovery Award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival and Best Screenplay at the Sante Fe International Film Festival. His most recent short film, The Red Shoe, won the prestigious Hearts, Minds & Souls Grand Prize at the Rhode Island International Film Festival and continues its national festival tour. Currently, Manning is developing two new film projects: the feature-length Sheila & The Punk Rock and the short experimental film Maria, both scheduled for production in 2025.

In addition to his film work, Manning is an accomplished theatre artist. His solo show Lost...Found premiered at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Festival to critical acclaim. He also wrote, directed, and starred in the Off-Broadway world premiere of Awake at the Barrow Group Theatre, where he is a resident director and instructor. Manning’s directorial work includes numerous productions that have been praised for their emotional depth and innovative staging.

Manning holds an MFA in Film from Columbia University and a BFA in Drama from the University of Georgia. He is a dedicated educator and serves as a faculty member at Sarah Lawrence College, where he teaches filmmaking, screenwriting, and advanced acting.

His continued contributions to independent cinema and theatre exemplify a commitment to creating thought-provoking and impactful works across multiple mediums. Manning’s career reflects a dynamic intersection of artistry, education, and innovation.

LEE BROCK

Lee Brock is the co-artistic director of the Barrow Group, an award-winning Off-Broadway theatre company and acting school in New York City, where she has nurtured the development of thousands of artists and students for over 29 years. Brock created FAB women, an organization dedicated to creating new theatrical works for, about, and by women. Additionally, Brock is a professional actor, director, teacher, and coach. She teaches acting, directing, script analysis, and monologue workshops at the Barrow Group School and is dedicated to inspiring actors to create and produce their own projects.

CHRISTINE CIRKER

Christine Cirker is an Off-Broadway director and producer, focusing primarily on new work in NYC. She currently serves as Producing Director of F.A.B. Women@TBG, the women’s development group at The Barrow Group in New York City. Most recently she produced F.A.B. Summer Plays by Women Festival (The Barrow Group), where she directed Bara Swain’s The Wonder of You and Charlotte Ortiz Colavin’s Take Flight.

At The Barrow Group: Awake by K. Lorrel Manning (Associate Director/Dramaturg), Perp by Lyle Kessler (Assistant Director). Other NY directing credits include works presented by Lucille Lortel, Pulse Ensemble, Core Ensemble, The Neighborhood Playhouse, Our Workshop East, Resonance Theatre, Strawberry Festival and the #MeToo Festival. Additionally, Christine is a  Member of  the League of Professional Theatre Women and a graduate of The University of Michigan with a BA in Secondary Education and Theatre.
